Active Entertainment was established in 2008 with the inaugural AMDEF Exposition, which was hosted at the MOHAI museum. (Formerly known as the South Lake Union Armory.) After the launch of AMDEF, Active went on to produce several concerts variety shows throughout 2008 & 2009. After the 2nd AMDEF, in June of 2009 Active created and launched “Chance Fashion,” now the longest running monthly fashion event in the United States. In 2013, Active launched the “AMDEF Variety Show,” and in 2016 launched “Art on the Rocks.” From 2008 to present, Active Entertainment has independently produced over 250 events, ranging from runway shows and fashion networking events to concerts, club nights and variety shows.
Since the launch, Active has also produced events in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, and in neighboring cities such as Tacoma, Bellevue, and Olympia, as well as produced Events for Anheiser Busch, Macy’s downtown Seattle, Seattle Fashion Week, Lemay American Car Museum, and many more. As 2 time Office of Arts & Culture smART Venture recipient, Active also had the opportunity to produce a fashion segment on behalf of Chance Fashion at Seattle City Hall, and has received numerous write ups in Seattle Gay News, Seattle Weekly, Seattle Art Nerd, The Stranger, What’s Up Northwest, Respect My Region, and many more.
